Quantum operations

Quantum computation consists of applying a sequence of elementary quantum operations to qubits.

Prerequisite:

  • Qubit

The principal single-qubit operations are X (negation) Z (phase change) and H (Hadamard).

The X gate takes blue to orange and orange to blue.

The Hadamard operation is one of the most fundamental operations for quantum algorithms.
